The Killing of Phillip Boudreau is a documentary about Cape Breton’s infamous ‘Murder for Lobster’ case. It starts with the question: ‘Is it ever okay to take the law into your own hands?’ but it goes deeper – exploring what becomes of those who do, what conditions give rise to the commission of deadly violence by otherwise ‘good’ people, and how a tightknit community heals in the wake of a tragedy that divides them.
