Edward Peill - Producer

Edward entered the film and TV industry in 1996 after having worked in a variety of sectors including wine making in France, shipping in Cyprus, commodities trading in Vancouver, and crewing aboard private yachts in the Caribbean and South Pacific. Prior to establishing Tell Tale Productions Inc. in 2003, Edward was the head of production for Topsail Entertainment where oversaw their slate of dramas, documentaries, lifestyle, and comedy series including the wildly successful Trailer Park Boys and the highly rated verité documentary series Tall Ship Chronicles. He's the recipient of numerous awards including the Telefilm New Media Award, International EMMA, New York Festival Award, Accolade Award, and the One World Award.


Erin Oakes - General Manager

Erin has worked in the film and television industry for the past decade in a variety of capacities. As the former Programs Coordinator for the Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative, Erin was the supervising producer for more than thirty short films ranging from experimental to dramatic, including the Genie nominated Faire Callum Macleod. During the past five years Erin has worked as a programmer for the Atlantic Film Festival Association and as an independent media arts curator. Most recently she has worked as a freelance production manager and production coordinator and in 2011 Erin produced the award-winning short film A Night Out. Her duties include project development, contract administration, tax credit administration, and business affairs.


Lisa Heyden - Head of Production

Lisa has been working in film and TV for more than a decade and studied film at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Following her studies, she spent several years working in the film industry in her native Germany as an assistant director. Upon returning to Canada, she worked in a variety of positions within the media industry including animation, gaming, television and feature films. Lisa enjoys the uniqueness, challenges and excitements that present themselves with every new project. As the Director of Production, she oversees all television series and long format documentaries as well as digital media production.


Cheryl Murgatroyd- Post-Production Coordinator

Cheryl has over 10 years of combined education and experience in the Arts and Entertainment industry, having worked primarily as an arts and media project manager, documentary filmmaker, and artistic consultant. In addition to two years of visual arts studies, Cheryl completed a two-year program in film and media production at NSCC. She has coordinated various television programs and events for community organizations and has been involved in dozens of productions including television series, documentaries, short dramas and music videos. Her duties include organizing and coordinating all aspects of post production for the Tell Tale production slate.


Maria Ryan- Production Manager

Maria holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a President’s Award of Academic Excellence from Saint Mary’s University. She has more than a decade's worth of experience in the corporate sector having coordinated and project managed for some of the region’s largest corporations. She has performed across North America as one half of the singing duo The Ryan Sisters and worked as an actor, marketing manager, and production assistant for music, film, and corporate productions. Her role at Tell Tale includes coordinating and production managing both one off documentaries and TV series.


Jessica Murray - Marketing & Communications Manager

Originally from Sussex, New Brunswick, Jessica has experience in communications within the entertainment industry including radio, film, and television. Prior to joining Tell Tale Productions, Jessica served as a brand ambassador for Rogers and as a promotions assistant at MBS Radio. Jessica holds a certificate in Performing Arts Preparation from Sheridan College in Toronto, a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, and a Digital Marketing Certificate from Mediabistro. As the marketing manager at Tell Tale Productions Inc., she oversees the promotion and publicity of all documentaries, TV series, and digital media. 


Debra Beck - Accountant

Debra holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Saint Vincent University. With her experience both within the corporate world and the film and television industry, she brings over 20 years of accounting, taxation, and administrative knowledge to the Tell Tale team. Her involvement in film and television has been extensive, having worked on both drama and documentary projects with networks including Disney, Fox, NBC, Life, and Sony. She oversees production accounting and financing. In her spare time, she enjoys working in her garden and traveling.


Kathleen Higgins - Assistant Accountant

Kathleen M. Higgins holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Honours, in English and Sociology from the University of King's College. After several years in the Insurance industry, Kathleen spent three years working as a Volunteer Coordinator and Event Planner for several non-profit organizations, including ACORN Canada, Bryony House, The Halifax Jazz Festival, and Travel Gay Canada. Over the last decade she has also served as a contributing writer for several local and national arts publications. As Tell Tale's Accounting Assistant, Kathleen serves as a support to accountant Debra Beck in production accounting and financing. In her free time, she enjoys taking advantage of Halifax's rich and exciting music, theatre and independent film offerings.
