The doc explores the connection of the residents to the ocean, the land and their hometown. Through personal stories locals share a way of life that is not just surviving, but thriving.

The film follows the construction of a traditional wooden schooner over a two year period interwoven with the stories of locals who are maintaining traditions for the next generation. Viewers meet a horse logger, a man that harvests seaweed, a family business that makes sauerkraut the traditional way, and a woman who races dorys.
